Brenda Howley of South Burlington, Vermont, founded The Howley Foundation in 2009 with a dream of helping children in India. This dream was originally inspired by Brenda’s daughter, Tanuja, who Brenda adopted from Calcutta when she was three months old. Brenda visited Calcutta Kids in 2010 where she was amazed and profoundly inspired by the work of their health workers attending to prenatal women in this slum community. Their work touched her heart and moved her to support Calcutta Kids and share her experience with others willing to help.
Tanuja Scowcroft, Director
Tanuja Scowcroft of Williston, Vermont, was born at the International Mission of Hope in Calcutta, India.
Adopted at the age of three months by Brenda Howley, she grew up in a loving home in South Burlington and attended the University of Tampa, Florida.
She now happily resides in Williston, Vermont with her husband and daughter and has a strong body of work experience in both retail and banking. Tanuja loves hiking, snowshoeing, and reading the next good book.
John B. Dahin, Jr. Director
John Dahin is a Florida state-certified General Contractor with over 25 years of experience and expertise.
With an excess of 35 years in the construction industry overall and prior experience in construction lending/mortgage brokerage, John also acted as CFO of a general contracting firm for nearly 10 years.
John recently retired from his 27-year career with a single general contractor firm. He continues to stay involved with land development projects in Florida. John enjoys fishing with his son and grandson.
Michael Julow, Director
Michael Julow has been a CPA in public accounting since 1977. He established his accounting firm in 1983 and has spent a substantial amount of time working with nonprofit organizations. Michael grew up in South Burlington, graduated from South Burlington High School, and then went on to graduate from the University of Vermont with a major in Business Administration. When not working, Michael enjoys tennis, pickleball, and working out as well as helping with the care of his two grandchildren.

Dr. Kellner is a board-certified pediatrician in Shelburne, Vermont. She is affiliated with the UVM Medical Center.
